So What is the RBTB - Tone Monster?
The RBTB is a new analog audio pedal development designed to give your single coil or humbucker style pickups a real edge, a fat, or thin, but smooth, quality edge with added sparkle, added drive, if you want it, and far better defined sound with sharper dynamics, definition and atriculation. It really does all this extremely well.
It's a high quality analog audio circuit using the latest noiseless analog technology but it's designed using classic principals dating back to the 60's to give you a selection of really classic frequency boosts.
It's not just a Treble Booster!
It's not just a Bass Booster!
It's not even an Overdrive!
It's definately not a crude Distortion or Fuzz unit!
The RBTB allows you to "tune into" the specific frequency you want to enhance. It then enhances those frequencies to give you sparkle, drive, tonal clarity. It's made from very high quality components and is entirely analog so it gives an excellent transparent sound which is not in any way processed nor digital sounding. It is as quiet as possible and as such is virtually noiseless.
Each unit is hand-made, guitar rig tested and packed for despatch.
There is no money wasted on fancy labels here!
You can even remove the labels then the RBTB is your secret weapon and be assured, people at your gigs will ask you what is generating your fantastic tone ! It your choice to tell or not.

What's the Background ?
After listening to our customers desires for a "great tone" it was very clear that many players would love to recreate the great classic tones from their guitar heroes of the late 60's and 70's. Back in the Day, Guitar Heroes like Tony Iommi, Martin Barre, Ritchie Blackmore, Rory Gallacher, Jeff Beck, Robin Trower, Jan Ackerman and many many others have created simple but brilliant guitar tones from very basic equipment. The RBTB takes this basic 60's sound concept and brings it up-to-date using the best high quality noiseless analog components combined with some clever practical design to give you a unit that is highly adjustable to match "your" idea of "your" ideal sound.
The RBTB came about after the development of the RBTC Tone Circuit. which offers a high quality "on-board" audio circuit to give you a fat, smooth, quality edge to your sound. The RBTB is just the further extension of our own quest for the ultimate adjustable tone. Mixing the RBTC and the new RBTB gives you superb results, as both products work very well together. Equally you do not require both to obtain a great sound, either alone will give you stunning results.
Isn't this just like all the other similar pedals then ?
Actually NO, not at all, not even vaguely, as it happens!
It's hand-built for a start and it doesn't use "the OC44" or any other noisy and frankly antique technology which some manufacturers claim gives you a "special sound". An OC44 gives you a very "special sound" alright ..................
though most people just call it noise !
We wanted something special so designed the RBTB to be different and it is!
Some "pedal designers" offer you 101 variants of their pedals, from low-gain to ultra high gain, claiming each one will emulate some different classic tone. Often the only difference is the basic component values in the same circuit. It's a nice way to make more sales for them, but not great for you, the guitarist!
RBTB is fully adjustable to give you a range of different tones from the same pedal. You can easily go from classic "Machine-Head" Stratocaster to the Blackest "Black Sabbath" at the turn of a dial. We've tested it with a list of pickups from Lace to Gibson Burst Buckers ( watch out Gary Moore ! )

Controlling the RBTB Sound ?
The RBTB has two basic controls, Gain and TMIB, and a true bypass switch.
The gain allows you to dial in as much or as little output gain from the pedal as you might require. The pedal can drive your amp as hard as you like and at full throttle this pedal really drives hard. It allows you to obtain high definition driven clarity even from the clean chanel of your amp, this reduces noise overall and sounds great. Of course you can use the cruch/drive and just adjust the Gain to suit your sound requirements.
The TMIB Control( Yes! We really called it that for obvious reaons!! ) allows you to control the tonal specturm from seriously sharp as a knife cutting treble, through nasal mids, to thick meaty bass. The range and variences are considerable and this allows you to match the pedal sound to your own guitar rig and preferred setup.
